When Jesus overturned the tables of the moneychangers and drove out those who sold cattle, sheep and doves, He exclaimed, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations, but you have made it a den of thieves.”

Question: What would that Court of the Gentiles looked like if the Jewish leaders hadn’t used it to change money and sell sacrifices? What would it have looked like if it had been, simply, a house of prayer for all nations?”

To think about: What the Jewish leaders did there made sense to them.

To think about: Jesus didn’t deal with the questions which would have arisen from His action, like, “How, then, shall we provide proper sacrificial animals to traveling pilgrims?”
