We in the United States are told to believe and follow the science. Makes sense. But do those who say to follow science believe science? For instance, do they believe the facts about genetics? For example, do they believe in the plain and simple biological differences between males and females?
No. They do not. To do so, they would have to give credence to God’s Word, that “male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27).1 They would need to acknowledge that Jesus said God, “created them from the beginning male and female” (Matthew 19:4).
That, they will not do.
If they followed the science, they would have to agree that homosexuality is unnatural for human beings (Roman 1:26-27 and Jude 7).
That, they will never do.
Do those who follow the science believe that science has proved an embryo in a human mother is a human being and not just a blob of tissue?
No, they do not. To do so, they would be required to believe that God forms children in the womb. “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13).
That they will not do. These are the ones who cheered when God was removed from their party platform.
But what should we expect? They are not the tellers of truth. They are children of their father.
Who is their father?
Satan, the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).
He is a liar (John 8:44). Babies are clumps of tissue. Abortion is “reproductive freedom” or “reproductive justice,” and Planned Parenthood is a women’s health clinic.
He is a murderer (John 8:44). Murdered babies, anyone?
A deceiver (Revelation 12:9). Biological reality concerning males and females, anyone?
The prince and power of the air (Ephesians 2:1-2). Internet hatred and suppression, anyone?
There are people who want to lead our country and who tell us to follow the science who are blind. Jesus sent Paul and sends us to speak His truth to unbelievers “to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me” (Acts 26:18).
Those who want us to follow the science while not believing science are under the power of the devil, but God loves them and wants to give them eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Please allow me to underscore two important truths in this well-known verse.
Those who want to lead us and whose father is the devil, are perishing.
The Father in heaven, not the father of lies and murder, loves them and is merciful.
They must come to Him.
These lyrics were written over two-hundred-fifty years ago. They were true then. They are true today.
Come, ye sinners, poor and needy
Weak and wounded, sick and sore
Jesus ready stands to save you
Full of pity, love, and power
Come, ye weary, heavy-laden
Lost and ruined by the fall
If you tarry ’til you’re better
You will never come at all.2
